Strange Adventures Comic Shop

Calum Johnson of Strange Adventures Comics is a good friend, and he
runs one of the finest comic shops in the world. Cal has done more for the world of comics from
a retail level than anybody I have ever met, and I've met a ton of great comic shop guys.
--For Free Comic Book Day, Cal organized a huge event, rented out a hall and had
a dozen animators and big name artists visit to do free sketches for the public. --Chalk
arrows and pictures on the side walk led people from the shop to the hall up the street where
the event was held, and everybody in Halifax had a grand old time. Cal gave away nearly fifty
thousand comics! Amazing! --I've heard people in comics retailing talk about what the market
is like for comics; how many people are reading? --A worthy question. But then I've seen Cal
and his crew of excellent employees create a sensation and happy awareness of the medium of
comics so that Halifax has been transformed into a city were I think more people are
reading comics per capita than anywhere else on the planet, (with the exception of perhaps San
Diego when the giant Comicon lands. But that's only for a week at a time. Halifax is
Year-Round!) Anyway, when he asked me to do a poster for his shop as a promotional Summer
giveaway, I was proud to offer my brush in service! The little dude in
red with the cape is a character called, 'Super Snipe'. He's the Strange Adventure's mascot.
